QuantumCode

Sony have launched quantumcode.mobi which is an intriguing game based on QR codes. Constance Newlove is an imaginary data analyst at MI6 and her life is in danger after coming into the possession of information regarding the Quantum Code. The Quantum code opens a safe which contains something that could change the world forever and your mission is to stop it falling into the wrong hands. What makes the game play a little out of the ordinary is the fact that information is time released so the site will keep you on the edge of your seat for quite a while. check it out at quantumcode.mobi.  See the Sony quantum code video. Follow the story here quantum code story

Update (24/10): The winner of the Quantum Code, Graham, just walked away with $15K worth of Sony prizes

Thanks to David Spathaky at http://beara.ie/ for the lead.

Wiki :- Quantum cryptography, or quantum key distribution (QKD), uses quantum mechanics to guarantee secure communication. It enables two parties to produce a shared random bit string known only to them, which can be used as a key to encrypt and decrypt messages. An important and unique property of quantum cryptography is the ability of the two communicating users to detect the presence of any third party trying to gain knowledge of the key. This results from a fundamental part of quantum mechanics: the process of measuring a quantum system in general disturbs the system. A third party trying to eavesdrop on the key must in some way measure it, thus introducing detectable anomalies. By using quantum superpositions or quantum entanglement and transmitting information in quantum states, a communication system can be implemented which detects eavesdropping. If the level of eavesdropping is below a certain threshold a key can be produced which is guaranteed as secure (i.e. the eavesdropper has no information about), otherwise no secure key is possible and communication is aborted. The security of quantum cryptography relies on the foundations of quantum mechanics, in contrast to traditional public key cryptography which relies on the computational difficulty of certain mathematical functions, and cannot provide any indication of eavesdropping or guarantee of key security. Quantum cryptography is only used to produce and distribute a key, not to transmit any message data. This key can then be used with any chosen encryption algorithm to encrypt (and decrypt) a message, which can then be transmitted over a standard communication channel. The algorithm most commonly associated with QKD is the one-time pad, as it is provably secure when used with a secret, random key

Ask our assistant a question and she will answer it. If there's a relevant web page she'll also load the web page for you. try it out.

Select Auto assistant from the menu then enter what are QR Codes? When your asked if you would like to read more on QR Codes just enter yes (or ok etc) and the web page will be loaded for you. Try request joke or just simply ask a few non QR code questions if you want to take time out from technology and have a chat with her. If you want her to do a google search for you just enter google for xxxxxx.
